Spring/Summer 2014 - Top Style/Colour Picks

Tuesday, 31 December 2013

I'm sure all you fashionistas out there will be wondering what the general style picks are for the upcoming spring/summer months and also the top colours that will be out in the stores!

Well after some research I present to you now my findings and the top picks to look out for.

My first stop was at the Pantone website, Pantone are the world-renowned authority on colour and is used as the standard language for colour communication from designers all the way down to the customer.(Information was taken from their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/PantoneColor)

They put together a fashion report where they speak about the colours to watch out for in Spring 2014 based on what colours pop out at the New York fashion week, to read more about their report and to download the PDF for a more in depth read visit this link: http://www.pantone.com/pages/fcr/Default.aspx?season=spring&year=2014&pid=3

So based on their findings they put together a lovely pallet of the colours you can expect to see popping up in shops this coming spring/summer:

They also whittled it down to one colour of the year for 2014 which we will probably see the most:

What do you think of this colour? Do you think you will rock it this Spring/Summer? Or is it not really your cup of tea? Which of the colours from those above call out to you the most? Let me know in the comments below.

I personally like this colour it shouts Spring however I do like the look of Freesia and Dazzling Blue, they are bold but lovely colours I will be looking out for them in the local shops.

Moving on now to styles and we jump to the catwalk of New York fashion week courtesy of Glamour Magazine (I am just picking my favourites out of the picks but to see more info here http://www.glamour.com/fashion/2013/09/most-wearable-spring-2014-trends-from-nyfw#slide=1)

The first style that catches my eye are tea-length skirts, the length right between midi and maxi.

I am loving the length of these skirts they look so feminine and lets face it kinda retro which I love! They remind me of 1950's style, I definitely will be picking up one of these skirts when they go on sale, the style of the middles skirt catches my eye the most.

Another style that caught my eye was Spring sweaters, light and bold printed jumpers perfect for breezy Spring/Summer days, especially in the UK lol!

These are just two among the many styles they picked out from the catwalk and most aren't too bad to be honest if styled correctly. To see the rest click on the link above.

I would love to know what you all think of these style and colour picks, what are you looking forward to and what are you not looking forward to?

I would love to hear all of your views in the comments below!

Happy New Year! :)

Beautiful Print & Yantoo Beads

Monday, 16 December 2013

On Sunday I saw my good friend wearing a head scarf and I just HAD to take a picture, not only was the way she styled, wrapped and tied it up really creative but the print was so beautiful I am sure you agree (see pictures below):

The colours work so well together and I must say, they go quite well with the season (blues, golds, reds).

Isn't she such a natural beauty? :)

Not only this but she also has started making these wonderful handmade ring and soon bracelet beads known as 'Yantoo Beads' their motto being 'In the African Wonderland where things are handmade'

Here is what she had to say about her creations:

"When I would think of African Beads The image that would appear in my head was them being worn around the waist and indeed I had a lot of beads that were measured to fit around the waist.
So one day i thought about how i could make the uses of all the long pieces of the beads versitile ! That's were the idea of Fingerbeads came from. Beads that fit around your finger like a ring. Simple,Cute & Discreet However this is only the starting point! Bracelets are next in line!"
So if you would like to purchase any Yantoo Beads you can follow the official Instagram @yantoobeads or alternatively email yantoobeads@hotmail.co.uk for requests or more info.
